illycaffè established the Università del caffè (University of Coffee) in Trieste, Italy in 2000 as a centre par excellence to promote and spread the culture of quality coffee in Italy and throughout the world.
The coffee culture pursues perfection in every detail from bean to cup, to provide a perfect cup of coffee in every place of consumption, from Shanghai to Seoul, from Cairo to Amsterdam, from Sao Paulo to Bangalore.
Theory is important, but we start from people, from their needs and their point of view, sharing both ideas and experiences.
We teach producers how to achieve the best from nature, always keeping in mind the rules for organizing the plantation.
For baristas and professionals working in cafès, hotels and restaurants, we offer the best training and refresher courses on all aspects of coffee, as well as coffee shop management and promotion.
