Giorgio Milos

illy’s Master Barista from Trieste, Italy. With barista training dating back to his teens, Milos is one of the world’s foremost experts on coffee. He is an Italian Barista Champion, a Specialty Coffee Association of America and Europe certified Lead Instructor and Master Barista in addition to serving as a professor for illy’s Università del Caffè. Milos travels the U.S., leading the illy Master Barista Series – classes and events for passionate coffee lovers and consumers.

   
   

Heidi Rasmussen

Senior Manager of Education and Quality for illy caffè North America. With 20 years overseeing quality in the cup at illy, Heidi serves as a professor of illy’s Università del Caffè and oversees the development and implementation of the company’s education, quality and training initiatives. A career that began 30 years ago in Seattle as one of Starbuck’s first baristas and trainer, Heidi has pioneered the way for women in the espresso business.

Mark Romano

Vice President of Education, Quality & Sustainability for illy caffè North America. A 30-year-veteran of illy, Mark leads the development of illy’s Università del Caffè and, with his team, ensures that every cup of illy is its finest. As previous Director of Quality & Technical Service, Mark has contributed to global research and projects that have resulted in international patents and new systems, machines and products designed to enhance quality in the cup.

   
   

The Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley, CA

Since 2009, illy has partnered with the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone in St. Helena, CA to offer professional and consumer courses as part of the Universita del Caffè. CIA offers associate degrees in culinary arts, baking and pastry arts with certificate programs in wine and beverage studies. It is a premier culinary college in the United States, enrolling over 2,800 students across the country.

International Culinary Center, NYC

In 2008, illy partnered with the International Culinary Center (ICC) in New York City to offer professional and consumer courses about coffee.  The ICC is the global expert in professional culinary and wine education.  With campuses in New York City and Northern California, the ICC provides each student with the credentials, confidence and connections to launch a successful career anywhere in the world.
