Mastrojanni
Mastrojanni
Mastrojanni. This wine farm, established in 1975, with time has gained reputation for its conscientious and uncompromising vineyard management. Today it is one of the most interesting companies among the 250 that produce wine on the hills of Holm oaks.
Ninety acres of woods and vineyards – 24 of which are vines and 14,5 Brunellos – yield an overall production of 80,000 bottles a year, among which the fine and rare Brunello “Vigna Schiena d’asino” (approximately 7,000 bottles a year, with a potential aging time as long as twenty years).
Francesco Illy, former vice president of the family’s holding, is chairman of Mastrojanni, and manages in Montalcino Podere Le Ripi, a farm of 13 acres, one of which dedicated to Brunello.
