Since its inception in 1933, the name illy has become synonymous with excellent taste in coffee, culture and the arts. illycaffè continues to harvest not only the finest beans but also artistic talent from both emerging and celebrated artists.
It is particularly supportive of younger artists, commissioning them to collaborate on editorial projects such as illystories and illywords. More recently, illy has instituted a number of awards in association with important contemporary art fairs throughout the world, using expert juries to recommend young talents for the opportunity to achieve visibility, growth and further studies.
As part of its commitment to nurturing young talent, illycaffè also provides support through study grants, illy collection projects, cash prizes, publications and exhibitions. The nature of the support may change but the inspiration and commitment never waiver: An unfaltering connection to beauty through art: to seek beauty and freshness, reveal it and enhance it. In this spirit, illy collaborates with major international exhibitions such as ARCO in Madrid, Frieze Art Fair in London, the Armory Show in New York, and creates projects with some of them including Art Rotterdam, Artissima in Turin and artbrussel.
