E.S.E. pods are available in medium roast (red band), decaf (green band) and dark roast (black band).
The E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) espresso pod invented and launched by illy has become an espresso standard, found in homes, offices and cafés throughout the world.
Each serving, or pod, contains 7 grams of perfectly ground, expertly tamped coffee to ensure delicious, consistent espresso each and every time. Simply insert a pod into an E.S.E.-compatible espresso machine and in less than 30 seconds it yields a delicious cup of rich, robust espresso. The individually wrapped servings protect the illy coffee from oxidation and guarantee maximum freshness each and every cup.
E.S.E. pods can be used with all E.S.E.-compaitlble espresso machines (easily identified through the circular E.S.E. symbol), including Francis Francis Trio machines by illy. Pods are available in three formats:
Medium Roast: for a smooth, balanced flavor enhanced by aromatic notes of caramel and chocolate with a light flowery topnote.
Dark Roast: for the full body and deep, rich flavor of a more intense espresso, where notes of cocoa intertwine with hints of caramel.
Decaffeinated: for the same flavor and aroma as medium roast, with a caffeine content of under 0.05 percent, half the legal requirement for decaffeinated coffee.
