The illy blend

Each growing region contributes a characteristic flavor

Ethiopia
Grown in the Ethiopian highlands, the best washed, flowery jasmine and ripe-melon flavored beans create a seductive blend with a pleasinglly bitter, slightly acidic yet melodiously sweet taste.  The product from this region is often described as a feminine and tantalizing coffee.

 Colombia
Confident in its rich, smooth chocolatey base, Colombian coffee is characterized by a gamut of fruity fragrances such as lime, orange, bergamot, and sometimes even tuberose and jasmine. Caramel and sometimes toasted bread are other also detected. Refined, with a perfect balance of bitter, acid and sweet notes, a delicately rounded yet full-bodied flavor is created.

 Costa Rica
Dynamic and sparkling, its  flowery bouquet blends in perfectly with the sweet chocolate and caramel notes for which Costa Rica’s coffee is prized. Well balanced, its sweet and acidic notes co-exist in perfect harmony.

Brazil
With its rich full-bodied aroma, Brazilian beans are the indispensable bedrock of an espresso coffee.  Sweet but with a very well balanced bitter-acidic note, more experienced taste buds will pick out toasted bread, caramel and chocolate flavors. Its full-textured, intense body translates into a pleasant consistency in the mouth.

India
Grown chiefly on the Deccan highlands in the south, this is known for its rich, spicy, tobacco and nutmeg aromas. It often displays caramel or even cocoa flavors as well. Its rich, full-bodied texture is imbued with a typically pleasant bitter taste that remains when mixed with the aromas of the other coffees, adding its distinctive aromatic presence to the blend.
