Phonurgia Nova Awards 2009
Among the prizes awarded for radio and acoustic art, the Phonurgia Nova competition has, since 1986, occupied a special place by virtue of its recognition of artists whose work exploits sound as a medium for expressing the real and the imaginary.
Call for Works This year's competition will distinguish authors whose work manifests a keen sense of sound and listening as means of expression.

NIMk Artists in Residence
The Artist in Residence (AiR) programme at the Netherlands Media Art Institute supports the exploration and development of new work in digital/interactive/network media and technology based arts practice. The residency provides time and resources to artists in a supportive environment to facilitate the creation of new work that is produced from an open source perspective. We encourage a cross disciplinary and experimental approach.
This is a practice based residency designed to enable the development and completion of a new work. -

Meeting Point Project
Meeting Point: Büyükhüsun is the second time the Meeting Point project comes alive. Following the concept of 'recycling', a playground of creativity on art, design, performance and local cuisine will be generated through workshops that will be led by Anita Bacic (AUS), Atelier BomDesign (NL), Body-Process Arts Association (TR) and local initiators (Gülpınar, Büyükhüsun TR); accompanied by a festival program that will add a new flavour to the life in the village.In a village overlooking the Aegean Sea where the breeze blowing through the vast olive orchards of Turkey and from the Greek island of Lesvos meet; we will be looking into the inherent ability of the villagers in recycling anything available in their vicinity, and with that inspiration, make objects of creativity with contemporary interventions. Registrations will be handled on a first-come first-serve basis. The final date for applications is August 1st, 2009.

Extra Call for 2009 Space Beam International Artist-in Residence Program
Space Beam invites one more international artist in 2009 International Artist-in-Residence Program to fill up a vacancy. Applications must arrive no later than July 31th, 2009. Notification will be made on Space Beam's homepage no earlier than August 3.
Alternative art community "Space Beam" offers an artist-in-residence program to support international artists who wish to pursue creative activities in Baedari region. Space Beam has been continuously conducting various activities and discussions regarding the social and regional role of arts, with its base in Baedari, Dong-gu, Incheon, Korea. Many interested artists are encouraged to apply for this program.

Casa Tres Patios/Arts Collaboratory – Artist Residency
The Casa Tres Patios in Medellín Colombia with support from the Arts Collaboratory* is accepting proposals from Asian artists living in Asia for a 3 month residency in Medellín, Colombia. The deadline for the receipt of proposals is 31 July 2009. The final selection will be made by August 5, 2009. The residency will take place between September and December of 2009. Projectables - 7a bienal do mercosul
We invite artists from around the world to present projects for the exhibition Projetáveis [Projectables], one of the seven exhibitions of the 7th Mercosur Biennial of Visual Arts, to take place in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, from October 16 to November 29, 2009. The exhibition will be held at Santander Cultural, an institution that sponsors the 7th Mercosur Biennial and is a major player in the fields of contemporary culture, visual arts, music, film and education. Santander Cultural actively supports the 7th edition of the Mercosur Biennial, which purpose is keeping up with its practice of integrating and communicating the multiplicity of languages and artistic-cultural contents.
