WE ARE A B CORP

Our commitment to protecting the environment and global communities has led us to become the first Italian coffee company to receive B Corp Certification.

A "B Corp" A "B Corp" is a business that meets the highest standards of social and environmental impact. The B Corp movement includes 4,600+ companies in 71 countries.

B Corps form a global movement that aim to spread the most progressive business paradigm: creating positive value for society. From today, the way we operate at all levels serves as an example and inspiration for those who believe in this model.

Our path as a B Corp focuses on our commitment and continuous evolution of five key areas for positive impact: governance, people, community, environment, and consumers.

GOVERNANCE

Ethics and sustainability are part of both our DNA and our company’s management policy, which has a primary objective to reduce the company’s environmental impact, , in addition to focusing on social, human and economic sustainability , and the creation of lasting shared value. In 2019, we strengthened our commitment as a stakeholder company, adopting the status of A Benefit Corporation and reaffirming our choice to grow by operating in a sustainable way for the communities where we interact, adopting this commitment into our company bylaws.

PEOPLE

Our sustainable supply chain is based on a system of direct relationships with suppliers, collaborating with them while caring for the environment, in an atmosphere of trust and respect. We select the best Arabica producers and teach them to produce quality in the name of sustainability. We reward them by paying them prices above the market, incentivizing continuous production and sustainability improvements. We have also created a platform for our community of producers, called Circolo illy, which includes a digital component for them to meet virtually and continuously learn from each other.

COMMUNITY

Sustainability is a daily choice that we have always put into practice along the entire supply chain, reaffirming our desire to grow by operating in a responsible, transparent and sustainable way for the communities with which we interact.

ENVIRONMENT

With our B Corp Certification, achieved partly thanks to the support of Nativa, a Regenerative Innovation Company that accelerates the evolution of companies towards a sustainable and regenerative economic paradigm, we have confirmed our commitment to maintaining the requirements of excellence established by B Lab, to support a positive impact on society and on our planet.
