In a series of dinners, created with MICHELIN Guides in the setting of the Le Bombarde Arsenale restaurant during the six months of the exhibition, creative dialogues were staged between artists, selected by the curator of the 2019 Biennale Ralph Rugoff, and starred chefs, selected by Michelin.

Robert Wilson designed an installation to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the illy Art Collection at the Sale Docks in Venice. The American artist created "the dish ran away with the spoon everything you can think of is true": an enchanted space in which images, lights and sound mark a path that is divided into different landscapes populated by objects and sculptures.

We chose to present Sebastião Salgado's photographic exhibition "Scent of a dream", a photographic journey through coffee producing countries, which began in 2002 and ended in 2015 in Venice.

We chose to characterize our presence at the 55th International Art Exhibition through the centrality of the coffee culture. Less than two years from the start of Milan EXPO 2015, we at illy, chosen by the Organizing Committee as curator of the Coffee Cluster (the thematic pavilion dedicated to coffee), have created an ideal bridge between the Venetian event and the universal exhibition by making coffee the official drink.
