Restaurant DATTILO
Strongoli
1 Michelin star and Green star
It all began with wine, followed by a passion for haute cuisine: Caterina Ceraudo is the chef at Dattilo, which is a Michelin-starred restaurant, a family-run holiday farm, and a famed vineyard in Crotone province.
Caterina, who was born in 1987, is the daughter of Roberto Ceraudo, who owns Dattilo and was one of the first winemakers to adopt an organic approach well before it became popular. After earning her degree in viticulture and oenology from the University of Pisa, Caterina embarked on a slightly different path.
Her ambition to become a chef led her to enrol in Niko Romito’s Chef Academy, and soon thereafter to work in the chef’s restaurant Casadonna. In 2013 Caterina returned to Dattilo, this time as a chef.
Ever since, she has maintained the restaurant’s Michelin star, and continues to innovate and re-invent Calabrian cuisine and its ingredients from the restaurant’s kitchen, showcasing her creativeness and innovativeness. In 2020 her committent to sustainability was rewarded with the Michelin Green Star.
