Restaurateur and entrepreneur for over thirty years, Massimo Bottura is one of the most innovative and influential figures on the international gastronomic scene.
In 1995, Bottura opened his restaurant Osteria Francescana in downtown Modena, his native town.
The restaurant, among the many worldwide recognitions, was awarded its third Michelin star in 2012 and was ranked number one in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list twice, in 2016 and 2018.
Over the years, Massimo Bottura embarked on new projects, now part of Francescana Group: in Italy, Franceschetta58, Cavallino, Gucci Osteria Florence and the guesthouse Casa Maria Luigia. Internationally, Francescana Group is present in Dubai with Torno Subito, and in Beverly Hills, Tokyo and Seoul, with Gucci Osteria.
Together with his wife Lara Gilmore, in 2016 he founded Food for Soul, a nonprofit organization promoting social awareness about food wastage and hunger.
In recognition of his philanthropic and environmental endeavors, in 2020 Bottura was nominated Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme, while Osteria Francescana received the Green Michelin Star.
