Restaurant QAFIZ
Santa Cristina d’Aspromonte
1 Michelin star
Nino Rossi’s path to haute cuisine was an unusual one: he began with banquets and receptions.
All the while, though, Nino dreamed of becoming a chef, and he began to teach himself the craft.
He served an internship in Alta Badia at Ristorante St. Hubertus, working with Norbert Niederkofler, the Michelin-three-star chef in the Alps, for three winter seasons.
He further honed his haute cuisine skills during a brief stint with Giancarlo Perbellini. In the meantime, he continued to manage and cook for events, but also opened Villa Rossi to launch a career as a chef.
In 2013 he moved to the Arthhaus Hotel in Davos, where he ran the kitchen when he wasn’t organizing events in Calabria. In 2016 he finally opened his own restaurant, Quafiz, in Santa Cristina d’Aspromonte.
And the Michelin guide promptly awarded him a star.
