Best machine yet for Iper Espresso and Steamed Mil
I've been an Illy machine and coffee customer for 15+ years. This machine has extraordinary improvements of past machines. The heat-up time is incredibly quick with steam from coffee also quick. The steam wand is extremely effective - I used to use a separate, hand-held frothing wand. This machine listens to my custom pull times and consistently adheres to those after only one prompt. Really impressed and very happy with this machine.

Great Machine, Fantastic Espresso!
I have really enjoyed the espresso that this machine puts out. It is delicious and convenient. The machine only takes a minute or two to heat up, so it's perfect for use before work in the morning. Having the steamed milk arm is really nice as well. I love the portafilter pod container! It's just for looks, but there's something about it that I really enjoy. The only thing that takes a little getting used to is the limited user interface. There's only 3 buttons, and moving around between the different modes is not difficult, but it does take using it once or twice to get the hang of it. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this machine for daily espresso.

Living "happILLY"
I love this machine. If you're concerned about extra waste using the capsules vs. grounds in a reusable, I've read there are options available online. I purchased the "Back To School" collection to sample Illy's own espressos, and I'm delighted!
I love the simplicity of operation, the perfect crema on my espressos, but also, the ability to easily make cappuccinos, and, cafe au lait.

I've had the machine for two weeks and I love my cappuccinos. Espresso comes out perfect, great taste, no bitterness. Its not as big as it appears on the photo, easy to use and clean. I was undecided whether to purchase it or not but I am very happy I did. I look forward to my morning brew.

This is our third machine and works wonderfully, although we don’t use the steamer! We’ve previously had machines in two other countries that were incredibly reliable and which found happy recipients when we moved.

Excellent machine, makes excellent espresso, steamed milk and foam. Much easier to use than previous versions. Unfortunately the English section of manual is missing several pages - including the ones on how to make espresso, coffee and steamed milk LOL. We bought a similar machine last year that was missing the same pages. They're available online if you look but you'd think they'd have fixed that by now.

There is no easier way to get a cup of genuine espresso. Trust me, I've had many different ones over the thirty years I've been drinking espresso. The machine looks sharp and does a great job. This is actually my second. The first one was damaged during a move.

Nice little machine
Nice little machine I bought for the boat. I have the bigger one at home. Only big difference operationally wise, is that you have to make the espresso first then the milk. My other machine has a hot water selection that allows the machine to cool down to the espresso temperature. This one does not They both have the same steam wands, on this machine with it's smaller base, it is easier to withdraw the milk pitcher without spilling foam.

Great machine!
The X1 Anniversary we just got replaced an older X1 and has surpassed it. By making the machine a little taller and giving it the capability to do non espresso based coffees we now have one less machine on the counter. The controls are improved and there is less manual fiddling. Bravo!

Elegant machine that makes superb espresso
The machine itself is beautiful. Reminds of the classic machines I encountered in my early trips to Italy. The capsule system works well and avoids any unexpected drama. This is good if time is limited and the idea is to enjoy wonderful espresso and not pretend to be a sophisticated barista. I am not aware of having better espresso other than in certain cafes and restaurants in Italy.

My machine made bitter coffee and I get a new one
Thank you for changing my broken machine to a new one for free. My machine started making terrible coffe after 6 months. It became very bitter. And the milk frother stopped making foam, but only heated the milk. I wrote to support and done everything by instructions. It didn't help. So they decided to study ny machine and give me a new one. The coffee is tasty again
