illy Coffee Surfing, Share a Dream

From April 14 to 19, “Coffee Surfing” and “Dream” come together with the work of photographer Gabriele Galimberti and the self-portraits of the #illydreamers

Milan, April 13, 2015Drink a coffee, close your eyes and tell illy about the dream you’re experiencing. For 2015’s Design Week, illycaffè is inviting everyone to share their dreams over a cup of coffee.

From April 14 to 19, at the illyartlab space at the Triennale, acclaimed Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti, who has been a vital part of illy’s Coffee Surfing project (http://coffeesurfing.illy.com) since 2013, will capture the expressiveness of visitors intent on living  their dreams, inspired by the aroma and flavour of a cup of illy espresso.

The Coffee Surfing project arose from the collaboration between photographer Gabriele Galimberti and illycaffè to tell the universally inspiring stories of so many people who are passionate about illy coffee across the globe.
In the illyartlab space, a photography exhibition  will be installed with the pictures  taken on Galimberti’s first two years of travel, during which a cup of coffee became the common thread for new acquaintances and stories revolving around the pursuit of happiness, awakening, and the strength that comes from change.

The pictures relating to the first two years of this project will be exhibited with the ones dedicated to the “dream that you’re experiencing”, taken at the Triennale during the Salone del Mobile week: shot after shot, the portraits of personalities from the world of culture and art together with those of the general public will become part of one collective artwork.
The project will also live online at the http://coffeesurfing.illy.com website, as well as on social media. Users can post a self-portrait on illy’s Facebook page or share it on Twitter and Instagram, telling the world about their dreams, using the #illydreamers hashtag.
The best self-portraits will be included in an ad hoc Facebook photo album that will be added to in real time during the week of the Salone del Mobile.

During Milan’s 2015 Design Week, the illy Coffee Surfing activities at the illyartlab at the Triennale, will be carried out in collaboration with Manfrotto andMoroso, the tech sponsors who supplied the photography equipment and the outfitting of the space.
The photography exhibition illy coffee surfing will be shown in Triennale after 2015’s Design Week, until May 10th, 2015.
