illycaffè presents its new “Limited Edition” can decorated by Olimpia Zagnoli

Trieste, September 10th 2020 – illycaffè’s iconic aluminium can is now out in a new, creative limited edition authored by Olimpia Zagnoli. A carousel of people and colours, in the renowned Milanese artist’s trademark style, make up a bright and garish parade. Let’s start anew together, each according to their own rhythm, let’s take back our freedom to move and bring back colour into our thoughts and our futures: this is the message that Olimpia shares with illycaffè and all those who celebrate the spirit of #LIVEHAPPilly, beginning with a cup of coffee.

The new limited edition 250g can of the iconic 100% ground Arabica illy blend, available in both Classic and Intense roasts, will be available starting September 10th from the illy e-shop, stores (illy Caffè and illy Shop), large-scale retail channels, and indirect e-commerce channels at a suggested price of € 6.90.

This project is another step forward in the relationship between the Trieste-based coffee company and Olimpia Zagnoli. The relationship began over two years ago, with the artist’s fresh and ironic creativity taking centre stage in all celebrations, both in illy Cafés and on its digital channels, culminating in 2019 with the creation of the poster and the cup dedicated to the 51st edition of the Barcolana regatta and of the illy Art Collection celebrating friendships between women.
Objects and occasions may be different, but they are brought together by a distinctive style that conveys joy and a positive outlook.

Olimpia Zagnoli  is a 36 year old Milanese artist from a highly creative family: both her parents are artists, while her sister is a costume designer. She has a predilection for bold colours and ample forms and an irony-laden passion for unusual objects. Add plenty of talent and an impressive portfolio – ranging from The New York Times to The New Yorker, La Repubblica to Taschen, Monocle to Vanity Fair, Air France to Yale University – and you’ll have Olimpia Zagnoli, one of the leading figures in the new wave of Italian illustration that is conquering the world.
