Taipei, May 11th, 2023 – illycaffè, a global company renowned worldwide for the privileged relationship it has established with the contemporary art world, is an official partner of Taipei Dangdai, the contemporary art fair that will be held at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei (Taiwan) from May 12th to 14th, 2023.

Between stands DG01 and D01 of the Taipei Dangdai fair, art lovers and exhibitors will be able to discover the new illy Art Collection designed by Pascale Marthine Tayou and immerse themselves in an environment where beauty and goodness blend together into a sophisticated design that reflects both the artist’s characteristic style and the aroma of the exclusive illy blend.

The illy Art Collection is the most tangible sign of the deep ties that have bound illycaffè and contemporary art for over thirty years now. The iconic espresso cups that have turned an everyday object into a blank canvas that has featured the work of over 125 leading international artists over the years now represent one of the world’s largest accessible collections of contemporary art.

For this illy Art Collection, Pascale Marthine Tayou chose a colour palette that recalls African landscapes: the stylized mask resting against a tree on whose branch eggs grow symbolizes birth and creation, while reflecting on the major issues of our time: conflicts, environmental sustainability, globalization, and immigration.

The Taipei Dangdai art fair provides visitors with an opportunity to discover the offerings of 90 renowned galleries along with the work of emerging artists.
